Clutch cable replacement.

    About to set of this morning and guess what? I could not get the info 1st gear and then I noticed this.
    How much is a new cable? And is hard to replace? Thanks.

    Piece of piss to replace mate.

    Just loosen it off at the clutch lever end and remove it from there.

    Then trace it down to the rhs of the bike and remove it from the actuator there.

    New 1 just install in reverse of removal and adjust clutch back up to suit.

    Do you have to take the fairing off?

    Only the RHS I'm sure

    U could tape the new cable to the old one and pull it back up to the top , that way u wouldn't have to remove the fairing

    Just watched a YouTube video. It looks reasonabley easy to remove the fairing.

    Just done the same on my 08, popped a venhill Featherlight clutch cable in there. My question is though, the rubber sleeving that was over the OEM assy, should this be slid on over the new one? It's all very close to a very hot engine when run through, so is the rubber a heat shield?
