Hi All I have a 2013 fireblade and have had it a couple of months and am looking to carry out a few upgrades. (it is currently standard) My budget is £500 or so and I was thinking of the following, any other suggestions would be welcome though. 1. Suspension setting - i.e. there is a company locally that take weight etc. and dial in suspension settings just for me. 2. Hel braided brake hoses - full race version. 3. Radiator cover 4. Downpipe cover Does anyone else have any other suggestions or alternatives? Cheers guys
Racing Radiator Guards will do you a custom designed guard for ~£35. Search for the page on Facebook! The guy has made countless guards (a lot for Fireblade owners, too), and they are great Hel race lines will set you back £90, leaving you about £375 to play with. Or as above, stretch the budget a little and get some Brembo Monoblocks and a 19RCS fitted
Suspension first mate. U might have wac a set of springs in. so see how much that is first b4 spending money on bling.
I'd go for Brembo set-up, M4's plus RCS cylinder, but you'll need a bit more cash. transforms the braking on the bike, along with attaining strong money if you ever need to sell. Or when you come to sell the bike i'm running a 10 plate Blade as a track bike with standard suspension, with just a few tweeks here an there, runs perfect, and tyre wear is great,
For the price and ease of fitment, you really can't go wrong with them. Plus the lad that makes them is a proper genuine guy.
Suspension! Second hand m/c and venhil lines Q/s second hand Remap Standard calipers are better than I thought , stick with em
Unless you're racing or doing lots of track days then upgrading to brembo this and that is just OTT and purely just the bling factor. The OEM Tockicos and MC with HEL lines and different pads is more than enough for the road and the odd TD. Spend the money getting the suspension setup for your weight. Hopefully the bike won't need re sprung. What tyres you using?
Hi, The cobers mentioned, Brake lines, suspension service/set up and look for an e-comfort seat. The standard seat is not kind to ones backside over any great distance. Hope this helps
I am using Metzler Sportec as they came with the bike and are in good nick, I was thinking of changing them, any advice on which ones?
MCT Suspension are in Stowmarket. Top drawer service. Give them a bell and discuss with them and they will tell you what you may or may not need. Perhaps ride to them and they can set up your bike to suit you on the standard stuff you have. £500 wont go far so what I would do is Brembo RCS ( used one appear quite frequently) HEL Lines (contact Mike at Bikers Discount Store) very helpful and I think they maybe forum discount. Standard Calipers are fine but maybe change pads Maybe SBS Sintered
Nothing wrong with the Metz, they're a good tyre. I'm about to put them on mine again. If theres plenty of mileage on them still, don't waste your mod money on replacing them.
I would invest that kind of money on suspension setup and tyres if needed followed closely by gearing, QA throttle and a rad guard, your not going to get such big gains in any other area for the money you want to spend. If you break it down and try the suspension setup yourself your save enough for some SBS dual sinterd pads and some break lines and a fresh pot of brake fluid.... bang job done
Yes MCT are excellent I went there with my GSXR750, suspension set up is a definite. Hadn't thought of pads, but may go for them with hel lines. Cheers
