just back from an hours ride and tucked the bike back in the garage. Not much going on so decided to clean up the garage....this is when I heard the noise, and it's possible it has always done it but I only heard it today.

Bike is 2015 blade, been switched off and key removed for a few minutes. I get a noise that lasts for around 5 seconds and then stops, and restarts about 15 seconds later. I've just popped back in and is still doing it after 15 mins, albeit the gap in between is more.

Sounds like a noise you get when a pic hardrive is whirring, and it's coming from under the tank cover I believe.

    Any ideas?
    Cheers

Mine does the same and it's non ABS, like Lozzy said I've always assumed it was air escaping from the tank, never tried popping the cap mind but I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Edit: I mean air getting into the tank as the cap is probably forming a very good seal and creating a vacuum in the tank.

Darn it, too late to check as it has stopped whirring now. Thanks, I'll check that next time with the fuel cap.

Mine does the same - but its a moaning sound coming from the tank. If you pop the fuel cap you'll hear a hiss, close the cap and then it should stop.

I always assumed it was the end of her orgasm when we finish a ride.

I get the noise aswell...thinking on though I'm sure I only get it when I put the bike away with a half empty tank. I normally brim the tank at the garage 1 mile from my house before I put it away but every now and again I don't...thats when I get the noise. Thanks for solving the mystery :)
