up grade of brakes rr6

    after advice please peeps got standard brakes on my rr6 looking to up grade but unsure about what 1st thoughts are hell brake lines new discs & blocks would be interested what you all think are best block,discs and is there better lines out there also would anyone think its worth looking at changing calipers unfortunately my wife has me on a budget
    looking at doing front and rear

    Depends on if it's for road or track.
    For road I have standard lines, callipers & M/C, but have SBS Sintered pads and a decent brand of brake fluid. I get a nice solid lever and no fade.
    For the track where the brake temps are higher and you need to reduce fade I have braided lines, better brake fluid, Brembo M/C and GPFAX pads in standard callipers. The feel is solid and doesn't have much in the way of fade.
    Both bikes have standard discs.

    do a couple of track days a year so id probably go for the latter thanks for the help

    Found the paperwork for the brake fluid whilst going through a pile of letters waiting to be shredded.
    It was Motul RBF 660 @ £14.95 delivered via Opie Oils

    I have just got all round set of EBC Double-H sintered for road use, and just read some forum review somewhere that they are noisy and not as good as the SBS version ! great.

    Am I going to be wasting my time with these EBC pads or should I get the SBS ones ?

    To be honest if you've got standard lines still in a 2006 bike just changing over to braided lines is gonna be a big improvement along with decent fluid!

    If after that you're still looking for more then I'd look at better pads and then a brembo MC

    I have a 2005 model for the track with Brembo m/c, RBF 600 fluid, braided lines and Brembo T-Drive discs and the m/c is by far the best upgrade!

    Newbie question here for you, Is changing brake lines as straight forward as draining, removing, replacing, topping up and bleeding, or do you have to piss about a bit? Do the replacement lines come cut to length etc.

    Yes to all of that. They will be model specific, make sure you mention it when ordering.
