I don't do track days as I would cry too much if I dropped it and with dodgy hips now struggle pushing my legs out far enough to get the knee sliders into action..lol, however, even for good road fun the best two upgrades I can recommend for what it's worth..... HM Quickshifter.... fitted the Plus SS.... brilliant. Smooth as and I'm sure I read somewhere a bit of a debate about shifting from 1st-2nd. You certainly can with the Plus SS. So fast and so much fun to ride that little bit harder, when the roads are clear obviously Wheels, not a cheap buy but the difference is so noticeable, bit the bullet and fitted OZ Racing in a matt finish. Wheels seem to stick to the road and you'll notice it in the turns. Try them, you'll never want OEM wheels on your bike again
on my trackbike cbr1000rr SP 2014 it came with the HM Quickshifter + ss as you say its mega. I have just had delivered a pair of gold Dymag UP7x wheels cant wait to get them fitted and try it in anger at Donnington in 1 months time. Only other upgrade I would swear by is suspension set up mine is booked in to MCT Suspension at the end of this month.
Getting your suspension set up correctly is the best mod you'll ever do! Plus side apart from quicker steering and better handling is your tyres will last longer
Funny you say that about shifting 1-2, I never tried but knocked it up once by accident and just got neutral and it revved it t*ts off. Mine is also a +SS
I posed the question but as with everything these days I can't quote or publish the response. However, as you are shifting through 2 gears you have to be really positive with your shift because of this. If it's clunking into gear your kill time is too short.
They only recommend shifting 1-2 on the gp quickshifter as you can Kill times for every gear! Have to say though I do love my gp quickshifter and being able to shift every gear
I emailed them on the issue with regards to the specific model in question... the response received is outlined above in my own words. If it trashes my gear box or engine....I'll be having a serious chat with HM Anyone in doubt should obviously email them personally as I cannot be held responsible for any information I may have received in error, obviously. Ive had mine fitted for several months now, Ive slipped into N once or twice, If accelerating hard enough and shifting positively I have had no issues shifting from 1st-2nd.
Hey pal. I also have a gp shifter. Having trouble settin her up to get her smooth. Any chance you could help me out with some info from your pages in the configuration software?
