Have come across a dark red '10 plate blade that I'm interested in, however it has the gold casing. Does that mean it won't have the larger crank and it's likely to be a '09 bike not registered until '10?

No-one know if the gold engine casing on a '10 plate would have the larger crank, or would this just be on the black case '10 plates?

If it's dark red metallic then it will probably be a late registered 2008 RR8 model. If you have the registration you could try put it into https://www.mycarcheck.com and it may confirm. I had a 2010 reg 2008 model RR8 and it was fine - 100% reliable in the 3+ years I had it and it used very little oil (no more than the later blades that I have had).

    Cheers,

    Ian.
