Does anyone know what format the data is being sent out of the diagnostic port? Would like to know if i can read it. Thanks, Ben
Not sure what the data is like, but unlike an OBD port on cars there is a dedicated kit for Honda bikes.
honda are very secretive about thier protocols regarding the info via the OBD port, but Aim do a ECU lead that connects via the OBD port which reads the following, ECU_1 HDS_RPM RPM ECU_2 HDS_TPS_V Throttle position sensor voltage ECU_3 HDS_TPS Throttle position sensor ECU_4 HDS_ECT Engine coolant temperature ECU_5 HDS_IAT Intake air temperature ECU_6 HDS_MAP Manifold air pressure ECU_7 HDS_BATT Battery supply ECU_8 HDS_SPD Speed ECU_9 HDS_IGN_ANG Ignition angle ECU_10 HDS_INJ_Tms Injection time ECU_11 HDS_unk Unknown channel which isn't a lot compared to the BMW s1k for example (it reads over 30 different parameters). if using an Aim logger connected via the ECU lead (Aim solo DL for example),you can add a math channel which will give you gear position aswell.
Even the sc 77 2018 have no standard OBD connector , 57-59-77 they got the same connector . Sc57 was the first to use Diagnostic data system On euro 4 bikes it´s possible built/buy a cable with honda 4 pins connector and ODB on other side and that read datas with a simple OBD can2 reader Come ti dicevo se guardi sul forum Cb1000r.it trovi un utente che sta facendosi un lettore che andra a funzionare Diversamente sconsiglio l acquisto delle copie cinesi dell hardware healthtech
tell me yr and i'll let you know. it's nothing to do with the OBD/diagnaostic plug type,it's the prorocols that honda use,but as the early hondas have little or no electronics aids as such ,theres not a lot of info to be taken from the data anyway. the Aim stuff reads from 08 onwards, may even do 04-07 but would need to check
I have a 2005 CBR1000RR. This is what I thought; but is the protocol similar to OBD? Grazie, ti ricordi il nome dell'utente? Vorrei leggere i dati dal ECU tramite un Arduino e poi trasmetterli su uno schermo o loggare.
Esatto e quello che sta facendo Markino http://www.cb1000r.it/forum/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=7254 Than... For sc77 (cbr1000rr 2017) owners in need to build the own cable (oem honda will cost round aboutt 140) to use with an OBD can2 reader for read/delete errors here we go:
what is it your looking to do? read data from the ECU,or read fault codes? fault codes come up via the dash/MIL light, you just need to then work out what the flashes/blinks correlate to in the service manual. if your looking for data,or to log the data for analysis, then the aim soloDL will do it if you connect via a ECU patch lead. just so happens i have both for sale haha
Haha, how convenient I'm actually looking to read the data via Arduino. With this data there are a lot of things I can do such as Gear Position Indicator and Quick-Shifter and then eventually logging too. I know it is relatively easy to read OBD data and because the GI-Pro and such do the same i figured the Honda protocols would also be somewhat easily.
