Hi, i'm about to order a yoshi r77 exhaust for my 2010 blade, does any one know if this come with a point to put the sensor into or if not what do i do with it!!
I wondered the same thing so I emailed Yoshi R&D and they said some models do and some don't (helpful I know) they asked for the part No and they would tell me. But as I am still waiting for it (9 weeks now) I couldn't tell them. You will be better off running it with an O2 eliminator and PC anyway. If mine turns up with the hole for the O2 sensor I will just put a blank in it.
If the exhaust doesn't come with a bung you could get one welded in. Or, if not, you can just zip tie the sensor cable out of the way - the bike will almost certainly run fine. (I have a PCV & O2 sensor eliminator myself though).
Actually this 1 would be alot easyer to install and its Dynojet CBR1000RR 08 Oxygen Sensor Eliminator
Six and a half years later, I revitalise this thread!! I have the O2 sensor in Yoshi R77 S-bend pipe, and it's actively wired to somewhere/something. I can't find reference to its function in the Yoshi or Blade 08-11 service Manual. Could one of the engine gurus please give me the lowdown on its function? I have no performance issues - this is purely for knowledge. Cheers!!
Nigel.....it's Boxing day.......ET's on't telly...go & open a can of beer & stop wondering about yoshi functions
Damn. And I thought you'd be off cooking dinner now!! Guess I'll come back later when a REAL guru can reply!!
It tells the ecu what the air/fuel mixture is , so it can run properly , but when fitting a power commander or the like it gets blanked off caus it would be conflicting with the set map %
Thanks very much for that, Levin. This only came about when I was doing some serious 'undercarriage' cleaning and noticed the nodule and wire on the exhaust before the end can. I don't have Power Commander and will not be doing mods that require it. Cheers again!
