Posted this at the end of another thread but thought it was worth mentioning separately. Just popped my local dealer an email to see what offers Honda are going to have on the Blade next year and just got this back; "Honda are still going to offer both the Fireblade and Fireblade SP at 0% PCP over 24 months for Q1 next year. The RRP on both bikes for 2018 will be £15769 and £19770!" So it looks like they've decided to up the RRP of both bikes. £645 on the SP and £544 on the standard bike. Disappointed with this as I'd more or less talked myself into an SP next year. I'd not be paying the RRP, but it still sticks another 500-600 quid onto any kind of deal. I'm sure I've made it known, but this gen of Blade really hasn't got me overly excited and I think this has probably now made me think about looking elsewhere again.
There's bound to be some healthy competition, but equally, other makes will similarly discount. They'll be busting to do deals before spring, but it's unlikely they'll discount a new release in the first couple of months. Having said that, the 2018 looks (at this stage) to have little or no advantage over the 2017. I'd hate to be in your position, DF.
I think it shows that Honda obviously don't see a problem with sales, unfortunately the dealers do. I've had 7 Blades so far and have a really good relationship with my local dealer, they're the reason I've stuck with the brand. When I popped in a month or so ago they'd got 2 SPs on the floor with £2k off before haggling. They basically said they'd rather have £40k worth of scooters and make £500 per sale as they can't shift the 2 Blades. I could go to Ebay world and look for the cheapest deals, but to be honest I can't be bothered with the legwork and dealing with dealers at a distance. The local guys may come up trumps with a great offer but I'm not holding my breath. On the upside I think I'm going to go and ride the Street Triple and possibly take Ducati up on a Supersport and 959 test ride.
I heard no changes other than maybe a couple of stickers. I've now been offered either bike at 2017 prices with a significant valued customer discount and 3yrs 0%. Said we'd talk next week to see what a significant discount looks like.

I was surprised they had the balls to put the prices up. Even the positive reviews mentioned the Blade being at the top end of the litre price range. I really expected the Q1/Q2 offers to reintroduce the £500/750 contribution and a decent low rate finance offer. It looks like if I'm going to buy one it'll be a couple or months or so earlier than I'd expected. The dealer's got a standard bike and an SP that they bought at 2017 prices, so the deal will be against either of those. If the deal's right I need to decide whether it's the SP, no pillion seat and sulky child or the standard bike with the quick shifter.

Completely agree. The BMW has all the bells and whistles to make £15k more palatable. It's a better bike than the current blade aswell IMHO. The only slight draw back with the BMW is that there's a new model out next year and it might be worth waiting.

If I was looking to spend £10k it'd be the Street Triple RS without a doubt or an MT09 and the rest to sort the suspenders.
