hi all.. thinking of getting my bike resprayed.. I'm thinking Nardo Grey.. what would you go for *****
Bang on, Simon. I bought my 2011 purely for the colour. (I'd earlier knocked back an orange/silver) After seeing a few black ones (not matte black like dianesfreak's latest acquisition) I'm very partial to that. But I can't imagine soliciting a public vote and then going with it. For instance, I wonder if the majority said: 'Go Castrol', or 'Repsol', would 'ROBBO cbr' follow? Will be interesting to hear! (So ROBBO, as Simon says (woops, sorry) just do your own thing!
Have you thought about one of them Chinese fairing kits? ? If it's just a change you fancy, for 280 odd quid you can get an array of different colour schemes, some race colours as well. I've found a Suzuka 8 hr 'Dream' kit which is the same design as my HRC OEM bodywork. Thinking it's worth a punt to keep my original fairings in mint condition what with having a few track days in the pipeline this season. Anyone had one of these kits before?
. . . and there's also this: https://www.kingsmotorcyclefairings.com/collections/honda-cbr1000rr-fairings
Don't forget if you consider the Repsol fairings, you will require permission from The Committee. Who will need to assess that your ass is worthy of being astride the most magnificent & fastest colour scheme ever in the whole wide world
As nice as Repsols are - the factory Repsol schemes are always so disappointing (sorry Repsol owners). Crap, poorly aligned stickers and the wheel and body colours are always wrong. Paintbox (who are close to where I live) have done dozens of Repsol replicas and they painstakingly match the colours to that of the MotoGP machines and all logos are airbrushed - no crap stickers. Here’s an example (ignore the black frame which ruins this one though imo):
I had a kit from that company and it pretty much went straight on, had it on a couple of years with no bother (2 years for me is 20k)
Have you considered having a wrap? My repsol trackbike I keep toying with having it done in matt black (the best colour) Facebook a company bike for bikers his work looks spot on, his words you can have any colour/design it’s only your imagination that will fuck it up
For me, these are the best colors on the blade: 1. Black bike with gold rims 2. Repsol 3. HRC But i like the original look on bikes, sure there are custom design that are amazing, but it has to be followed through to be as good as OEM in my opinion.
