OK so I've searched the forum and this has cropped up a couple of times but I want fresh info on this.

So R&G or GB racing covers?? Most of my riding is on the road but have a few track days lined up this year so just want to take a couple of precautions. Not bothering with crash bobbins in favour of some aftermarket fairings......discuss.

I personally prefer the look of the GB racing.

Have no idea which ones would perform best.

GB Racing mate. Highsided at 75 mph with gb racing covers fitted on my bike. Did not eat through the cover. Used some wet sanding paper and resprayed it black, all good.

    No experience with R&G covers.

GB protectors stood up well to both an off & a heavy drop on mine...just a couple of tiny holes & scuffing. Thoroughly recommend them

I can't tell the difference between the race set and the standard either, think I'll go for the standard ones!

Thanks for venturing into the garage and taking the pics Lozzy! (Unless they're old pic's) ;)

I have the T-Rex covers and frame sliders fitted on my bike.

They look really nice and are vented so its suits the hot climate in the middle east.. Works well, only downside i would say is they are a bit heavier than the GB racing and R&G ones so not the best if you trying to keep the bike as light as possible.

    Worth looking at tho :)

OK so I've decided to go for the GB racing covers, but there seems to be two different styles of cover for the stator.....one has a fourth extra fixing point and one has three fixing points??

I think I'll be buying them direct from GB racing rather than ebay as well.

Looks like the four point one is the genuine one looking at the gb site

I see what your saying Lozzy but the 3 point fixing stator case is also on GB website so I don't think it's a case of it not being genuine......it does however say it's for 2012 onwards, where as the eBay one says 2008 to 2011 ?? Confused.com

I've found this on the gb site....maybe one is for stock & the other race or kit?

    Screenshot_2018-01-18-22-34-33-1.png

Also on the stock bike you fix the plate & then replace the plastic Honda cover over the top but I presume with a race kit the plate remains showing?!?

.........and so it becomes clear, I did question what the difference between race and standard was at the start of this thread but drew a blank. It was the year of fitment that was confusing as well. I do get myself in a state over these things haha!

Thank you wise old owl ;)
