    Not a bad idea.

The only thing it will probably bug, I would rather try and and sort it really,
But not sure how to go about it as everything looks like it's in the way, like the exhaust and the links that connect to the shocker it looks so cluttered. It would be better if I could take the stud out with the shocker already in place

Looking at the pic to get that out looks like the swing arm will have to be removed so you can centre punch it, drill and extract . Once had similar prob with exhaust header stud , it snapped off flush with the head . What's frustrating is that this was started by someone else

Yeah I know what you mean, I thought it was bad enough thinking I was going to remove the exhaust and shocker.
If I could get the shock to move forward I think I could may be get to but that canister won't go past that top mount

Is it easy to remove the swing arm or not?
I have never removed one before that's all.

Need to get a Haynes manual.
I think if I could get the shock out I could possibly get a right angled drill in there

So what did you do, Tony?

Remove the swingarm and drill and re-tap?

No just removed the rear shocker and used a 90° angle drill extension. Drilled it out and re tapped it.
Was a lal bit fiddly to get the shock back in but glad it's done now
