Just been in Aldi and saw bike covers for 8.99. I bought one, partly for curiosity and partly because I can use it. It is a dead-ringer for my Oxford Aquatex. Given that the Oxford product is made in China to 'exacting specifications' I'd be game to say it's exactly the same product. They are a light fabric - perhaps more shower-proof than rain-proof, but good to keep sun off etc. Obviously this will be of no interest to those who shun Chinese products.
Had one once ,it was ok . Prob was it got covered with oil off the chain ,then it smeared oil all over the body work when putting it on and removal
Ah yes, it happened to me with the Oxford. It's not necessarily how we put them on; I think it's when the wind buffets the cover it blows into the chain. I suppose this might happen with any outdoor usage. Must admit though, I do look out for it now.
Good shout Nigel.....might have a look for one of these tomorrow, don't keep my bike outside but will do to keep the dust off. Thanks for sharing!
I'm not biting. Me and Lozzy have a certain respect for each other. Good that you had better luck than me when I took up on your post about the Marquez book. Couldn't get one. Even emailed their Head Office but it was out of stock. Available on Amazon of course - at twice the price. I'll hang out for your car boot sale out of the Discovery.
Always a good time to talk about chain cleaning, but there's already numerous threads on the topic! I learnt my lesson, however, after changing from one product to Wurth. Perhaps a 'gentler' application also solved my problem.
I bought the medium after getting the tape measure out. Seems ok for the money. Will be good for garage dust at least.
Paul and I have large. I hope the medium isn't too tight. I think Aldi has a good exchange policy if it comes to that.
I can't believe you're putting cheapo Aldi tat on the glorious Blades It's like putting Tena Ladies Comfy Pants on Playmate of the Year
