Had both a '12 Blade and currently running an '07 RR6 and love both though i must admit the RR6 feels a bit lairier and more hooliganish though that might be because it's a bit older and i'm more inclined to chuck it about a bit more - both are great fun though. You could get a nice low mileage RR6/7 with change for some nice bits for 5k.....
I know what you mean. I struck total chaos and delays with all the roadworks on the M6 (or 42) on return from Glasgow. Must be bedlam during peak hours!!
I had he same dilemma a few years ago when I was choosing which blade I wanted. I spent ages doing research on specs of the RR5/6/7/8, all comparing different things. And to be honest, there wasn't a lot in it. I even took both for a test ride, but it was the RR6, that did it for me on looks. No disrespect to the 08 owners, but I didnt like the look forward the nose cone, it looked too squashed for my liking. But it does come down to personal preference at the end of the day. I've added a few trick bits to make it my own and even changed that single exit exhaust to something more aesthetically pleasing, but deafening to the ears, lol.
The A38m is a particular joy, especially when they decide to do waterproofing works for weeks each summer. Lardy - I've always had a soft spot for the red & black 06. I actually owned a silver one for a while.
Thanks for all the replies guys (and the banter ). I’m off to look at a RR7 at the weekend but before I buy will look at an RR8 too (in the flesh) hopefully get a ride on both too and go from there!
That is a prize machine, Selmer50mark. Nice rear cowl treatment, nice original exhaust, and tip-top condition. No one would object to a side-on shot
2008 is a better machine handling, power delivery braking etc.....but my mates 2006 looks much better with the same amount of miles. I think the materials use in the previous models are just more robust
I agree. Going from the 954 to the 2005 felt like a backwards step handling wise for me, but that might have been down to the weight gain (the bikes, not mine). The power distribution from the 08 was definitely better too.
It will be hard to get an fair result with the roads the way they are at the moment, be careful buddy !
