How do I do that mark? What is required? Does it make much difference? I still have the standard exhaust on at the minute

In standard the flap does not open till 5000rpm while your rideing .There is nothing wrong with the standard exhaust , its good enough . Left side near the fan there is a diaphragm valve , gently pull the black rubber pipe off Then you need to screw a short 5 or 6 mil bolt in to the rubber pipe, Then just tuck it away with a tiwrap . Doing this keep the flap open . Look for this above the headers . I think throttle response is better at low revs also sounds good :D takes about 1 min , takes longer looking for a bolt ha :) 20180218_171013.jpg this is an after pic

Hi. I have two RR7s, one standard and one I've gradually improved.
The air box flap has no effect on performance and fails in the open position. The easiest way to disconnect it is to pull the electrical input from the ECU. This is a plug behind the near side fairing near the vacuum pot. It doesn't cause an error code. I had my bikes dynoed back to back, air box flap connected and not, changes nothing. The induction noise changes a little though, at slow speeds it makes warbley sounds depending on the direction of the wind.
I also set a test loop up to monitor the ECU commands. At about 1800revs it closes so long as the throttle position remains steady or rising very slowly. This is the case until about 3500revs when irrespective of throttle it goes open. Any sudden throttle movement causes it to go open.

I agree it makes a nice induction noise.
I wasn't sure which flap you were referring to. The air box flap is just a noise control but the flap in the exhaust silencer inlet is very important for bottom end.
Honda supply a test tool to check the ECU has full flap travel via the motor.
My modified bike has been remapped and they checked the exhaust flap operation before starting.
I've since bought the test tool for my own interest.

Do you mean the PAIRS blanking plates?
My modified bike has the PAIRS blanked but only because you can't map the fueling with air being injected into the exhaust flow.
The O2 sensor is disconnected also.

Have you fitted an O2 eliminator or just disconnected the sensor ??

While they were in the ECU they turned the O2 sensor off.

I can't remember but I think it throws a error code up if the sensor is just disconnected. The sensor boss is where they fit their gas analyser.
The sensor is screwed back in the boss.

If I recall correctly turning the PAIRS off in the ECU is not practical. It's hidden in miles of code, the O2 is an on/off.
