    Hi

Anyone had their 2017 fireblade in for recall yet

Heard a rumour ages ago about a fuel cap issue but over in Australia. Checked all the forums etc and couldn’t find anything over here.

Was looking again last night and put my vin number into the Honda website and boom, up comes a recall for the fuel cap.

Bit pissed off that neither Honda or the dealer have contacted me but I have phoned them today to sort it out.

Just awaiting a reply from them.

Girl I spoke to on the phone said that if the bike has been wet it will have the fuel cap and other parts including the injectors replaced.

    Anyone else had this??

yes fuel filler cap renewal , was told by dealer that they will check the fuel and any issues it would be a new tank , pump , cap etc , still waiting for them to ring 3 weeks now when they ordered the new filler cap .

So the new blade is potentially a fireball??

Apparently it could cause an engine stall.

Whilst going into or round a corner that could be very shit

    Lol

Picked mine up in Jan, checked the VIN and it's saying no recalls.

When I spoke to the dealer getting my 2017 SP2 done they were more worried about the potential of water ingress than they were of fuel leaking. Maybe that was more to do with our climate than anything else.

I think it was a general recall. It was certainly flagged on here by an Australian owner pre-Christmas, as I recall.

Yes, it was a general recall - I guess in Aus they cared about fuel getting out, in our glorious weather they were also concerned about water getting in. Probably less of an issue in Aus ;)

My sp1 had the recall done before I collected it as with out it they couldn’t do the pdi.

It’s not a fireball, it won’t stall unless there’s rather a lot of water in the tank, all new bikes have teething problems look at the new gsxr and both my mates 2015 s1000rr have been back in more than once.

I'd assume mine was done pre-pickup then. There's nothing outstanding with a VIN check.

If the recall work has been done there should be a punch mark before the first character of the VIN on the VIN plate.

The dealer has the replacement part for mine but I'm waiting for The Beast from the East to clear off before I book it in.

    I'd guess the special little struck through character means it's been done;
