So basically having bought a CBR1000RR around April last year..and considering that the weather its been awful this last few days..I've done what any Motorcycle enthusiast would do and looked around at other bikes.. And I was kind of having a play with the idea of an R1 as I have my R3 almost at the end of PCP contract..(and of course Yamaha didn't hesitate to make me a "good deal") tho I think I'll just sell it.

Anyway all in all...having calculated that a new R1 insured would run me around 400 a month I've kind of backed off as it seems a waste getting rid of my CBR with barelly baby miles..and somebody out of nowhere asked me "what in the hell would be my reason for swapping when this CBR has everything" and it suddenly hit me..THATS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM ..I got nothing to toy and tinker with...and that annoys me(that and the fact that I had a long run crush with YAMAHA)

So having said my stupid long story(I apologize if I've bored u)

Here's the list of current mods:
Galfer Wavey Disc's, ASV short Levers, Carbon infill panels, Sp Seat Cowl, PowerBronze seat, R&G tail tidy and Racefit exhaust.....All I've done..is add EAZI-Grips and a lithium battery...

Help me find a new meaning to life..and suggest some mods..so I can have something to play with. Much appreciated(BTW no I'm not gonna waste 2000 pounds for god knows what set of ohlins..thats not playing with anything thats burning money while keeping you cold.)

BTW, is there any downside of getting heated grips from say...oxford over the renthal medium compound normal ones?

Thanks, I love the list except quickshifter and lightweight wheels, reason being u don't need a quickshifter..u can just shift with no clutch if u know how and I don't think a quickshifter would make a great improvement..also the wheels..its 1000£ last time I checked and I don't think I'm willing to spend that much for not much(might be wrong there please feel free to correct me if they really worth it).

Also can u recommand some good sprocket sizes? don't wanna find out that the bike suddenly does only 160.

I can second the master cylinder, best 200 quid i have spent.
The wheels will save you a lot of unsprung weigh and make the bike accelerate, brake harder also make it handle so much better.
Get the suspension set up for your weight aswell

If you're bored and run out of stuff to do on the bike, why not spend your money on some track days instead?

Cool.....was just gonna say if you do make any further mods suggested by Raphael and Tucker it'd be nice to to feel the benefits of the upgrades on track!

Sounds like you've got it covered though!

Word is that stocks don't get past at some tracks. That must make the problem really difficult for some guys. What's the solution - extra wadding in the stock?

I haven't actually tracked this bike yet but have been with a CBR1000RR from 2017 and it passed no problem..Hmm I'm pretty sure they do get past..but I assume that people rev them at what they supposed to rev a 600 ..I can see how that can create the confusion..since you rev a 600 at 7000rpm and a 1000 at only 5500 by the rules..idk to be fair.

Have you not got a baffle for the racefit? I've got a 'growler 2' with a modified baffle (it's been wrapped in extra exhaust wadding and secured with stainless steel cable ties) this has been done to reduce noise for my intended track days this year. It's not been noise tested yet but I'm hopeful it'll meet the 102db level for Oulton park!

I have the Black edition(the one with the wide open whole straight) and they don't make a baffle for them I actually asked them at this years motorcycle event from Excel...there's nothing I can do..

Ah yes of course......i remember now, that was the reason I got the growler 2 , because you have the baffle option.

Yes...The whole thing is quite annoying and I've considered selling it and buying something else..but I'm afraid I'll miss it too much..its just so pleasant to hear it personally.. :)))

Single best thing you can do is upgrade the suspension without doubt. Makes the biggest difference in a bike everywhere.

Hi Paulo, Im looking at trying to quiet my Racefit. I have the baffle but its still too noisy. Have you got any photos of how you modified it with exhaust wadding? Im guessing something like in the link below. I also guess that you cant block the airflow with wadding! https://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Prod...7kX_JQjXMWuhYKykAqxoCWdcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I've got the Black Edition and got Racefit to modify the end and fit the endcap that does allow a baffle to be used.
