I spoke to Bemoto last year but they said being under 30 meant they coundnt be competitive. Same story yesterday when i phoned for this years renewal. They are excellent to deal with and seem like genuine people with knowledge of bikes. Im 30 later this year so next year they might be to quote me happy.

Ironic that this thread's been rejuvenated.

Even though my Blade policy expires in April, MCE have just advised that I am now penalised - by virtue of increased premium - for keeping my Blade INSIDE my home. By their definitions, a home is not defined as a place for keeping motor vehicles. Fair enough, if we are to rely on dictionary definitions. However, my view is that policies are 'generally' determined on a case-by-case basis while taking into account claim statistics. I am seeking from MCE statistics of motorcycles being stolen from within a home!! Fairly confident I'll get the run-around. (Am using Bemoto from April - still liaising with Alex.)

Just an idea as a option if it helps anyone I tend to use www.thebikeinsurer.com it always comes up with reasonably good prices from multiple insurers. Worth a try if it benefits anyone.

    I'm lucky, I have a traders policy.

Costs me £1500 a year for me and my Mrs. Got 2011 vw transporter, 2008 Audi A4, 2017 rsv4rf, 2 cbr600rr and 2004 Corsa. We are both insured to drive any car and ride any bike full comp. That also covers all my tool, diagnostic tools etc

Had my renewal through from Bennetts for this year, gone up £100 to £306! Did a compare the market job and got it slightly cheaper. Phoned Bemoto, spoke to a chap who knew his stuff and came out with £209 for their titanium cover. Excellent service, thoroughly recommended!

Had my renewal quote through from Bennetts the other day, shot up from last year to £211. Decided to call Bemoto to see what they could offer me, their titanium package came back at £190.

I always keep an eye on compare the market leading up to it, so I don't have to fart arse around later. Cheapest I got was £137 from Bennetts, lol. Called Bennetts to find out what the crack was, cheapest on the phone they could do was £149. So cancelled the renewal and set up a new policy. Result.

Very good strategy. I do the same so that I am armed with knowledge when I make a phone call. Your findings on the difference between 'compare' prices and those given by the insurance company can vary a lot. For my 2018 Blade the same company quoted 1836.00 over the phone after the compare site threw up 579.00 (full comprehensive). Needless to say I rushed back to accept the 579.00!!

Bemoto couldn't do anything for me, almost double what my current provider is quoting. Back to the comparison sites, can't wait for my limited edition Oleg BB8:)

Yeah i have just rejected the Bennetts renewal quote.

Phoned BeMoto and spoke to Ben. Their Titanium cover is coming in at £249.61 with 5 years NCB and mods listed. Policy includes RAC breakdown cover, legal cover, helmet & leather cover. Pretty good.

I've been with Bennetts for the last couple of years. I've currently got free insurance as they've not taken a payment since my renewal in June. I've called them 8 times so far to try to sort it out and they still haven't, even when I offered to pay in full.

Every time I've called I've asked them to confirm I'm still covered, so that I can ask for the recordings if I need to make a claim. Needless to say I'm probably going to be moving away from them at the next renewal.

And that is yet another rort employed by some insurance companies - using 0344/0345 number for which we pay up to 9p per minute!! (depending on provider plan). I won't go into a rant on this, but I totally object to paying a company an added fee (over and above local call rate) to conduct business with them.:mad:

Same here Bennetts were loads cheaper than Bemoto, shame as I would have gone with them if they were in the same ballpark.

Yep. So many companies devise their lengthy spiel around this 'late revelation' of 'Sorry, but we can't help you', with time ticking over at our expense on an 0345 or 0844 number. Only a few responsible insurers/brokers conduct their business with an 0800 freecall or local rate, thereby relieving us of the liability of our paying a company to do business with them!:mad:
