Yep, R1s are certainly grabbing headlines. They also seen to offer more than the current Blades. It is surely time for Honda to get its act together, although the sports bike market is steadily declining. Only last week MV announced that it is suspending production of the F4 until 2012, but this could be the beginning (or another beginning) of the MV silent death. However, I'll still dream of the Honda 2019/20 V4.
Well, the fact is that it has 13 more bhp and it is lighter. And i would argue that the electronics are better now than the current RSV4.
Don't know. Here in Norway the RSV4 RR cost 23 000 GBP and the Ducati V4 (not s) cost 26 000 GBP. I guess there is more difference in the UK in regards to price.
RF is 27 700 GBP in Norway mate. There is alot of vehicle tax in Norway, so bikes and cars are more expensive. But then again, norwegian salary are higher than most other countries. My used blade (08) with 13000 miles on the clock i will get around 11-12 000 gbp for here in Norway, hehe. New blade standard are about 23 000 gbp and the SP1 is around 27 000 gbp. Most premium bikes actually cost 27 000 gbp here in Norway. You could get the RSV4 RF, R1M, Fireblade SP1, Kawasaki ZX10-R for that price here. Standard versions come in at about 23 grand.
Wow they are expensive, what the second hand market like? Do they hold the value? Would you save much if say you bought one in uk and shipped/rode it back to Norway or would import tax be to high?
Yes, bikes hold value well in Norway. A 2-3 year old bike is maybe 3-4000 under retail value. But it depends on the model of course. If i bought a new bike in the UK, got it back here and imported it , i would end up paying more than if i just bought it at a dealer. I actually imported my fireblade from Sweden, and i saved maybe 3000 gbp on that deal i made back then. But new bikes, forget it. Other reasons to import here in Norway is selections, there are not that many bikes here. For example, i am looking to get a HP4. And currently there a 0 for sale here in Norway. Nothing in Sweden either. Germany however have just about 50 used HP4 on www.mobile.de. UK also has 10-20 HP4 for sale.
