Best thing I ever bought. Mine is a Bruhl, cost about £80. I think Bruhl are the ones to go for. I still use a microfibre towel first to get most of the water off the tank, screen and fairings but then do the rest with the dryer. When you see how much water it's blasting out of the gaps you will be amazed. You need your earplugs in when you use it, as you blow over any holes it causes some crazy whistling.

I use a major 70mph dual carriageway instead. 3 miles to the next junction at 70ish and 3 miles back and the bike is completely dry. Any still trapped moisture will be evaporated off by heat soaking out of engine afterwards.
Works as long as it's not raining of course...

    To play devil's advocate...

Firstly If you ride the bike 6 miles after every wash then by my rough calculation a dryer will have paid for itself in about 100 washes because of the fuel and tyre wear alone it would have saved you. I never like the thought of putting all my gear back on after spending an hour cleaning the bike either. Always seems to me you're at quite a risk of having an accident....much like the "last run of the day" on the ski slopes.

Secondly as edderby mentioned, riding the bike after a wash is no good if there is crap on the road you want to avoid i.e. rain or salt.

And finally the dryer does a much better job of drying the hard to reach areas. The air from the dryer is travelling at 60 metres per second and can be heated to 70 degrees. The air can be directed in an infinite number of directions from any distance you like. Riding the bike can't compete with that for forcing water out of hard to reach areas. Also having the water evaporating from residual engine heat under a cover or in your garage isn't ideal either because you will get trapped condensation.

Order one on the Internet, use it once and if you aren't satisfied in its performance send it back. You only have to read or watch a review online to see that once someone has used one they will swear by them, me included. You should both get one!!! Haha!

Do people use these dryers out the front of their house?

I can't help feeling that neighbours might find our behaviour a little odd, in fact, some might use the term 'gay'. Perhaps a solution is to do our hair at the same time, thereby disguising the real purpose of our strange activity.:D:D

I'd definitely have one of these. I have an old vacuum cleaner in the garage I use for cleaning the car. If I could get it and the wife to blow I'd be onto a winner. ;)

Mine is a Bruhl BD1240 which has now been superseded with the MD1400. They've removed the assisted heat from the base model MD1400 though unfortunately. You don't really need the assisted heat to be honest. Love to hear your opinion if you do get one.
