The exhaust servo motor on my 2017 ticks and whirrs when I turn on the ignition but before I start it up. Is that normal? I don't think it used to do it but I can't be sure.

Yea it does that when if you have the cable removed; there's also another noise from the throttle blade if you touch the throttle by the slightest without engine on

I don't have the cables removed. If I apply some tension to the cable the noise stops. It used to be that once it stopped it wouldn't start again but now if I release the tension it starts ticking again.

I'm probably going to change the exhaust so the motor will be removed but if it's faulty I should get it sorted first.

That's where the warranty comes in handy, but just sounded like the motor trying to found home and maybe tightening the cable might help.

With aftermarket exhaust the motor will stay in place, just cable removed, so you dont get fault code. If you want the motor to be removed you need to either get a servo elminator or ECU flash.
