Does anyone have any pics of the back of these or how it is mounted? https://store.racefituk.com/products/carbon-fibre-cbr1000-rr-2014-infill-panel
Mines for 2009 but if the mounting brackets are the same they do take a bit of working out. The brackets are peculiar angles and you'll need to try out a few combinations before it hits you in the face.....that's what I found anyway!
The plan is to try and fit something around this exhaust ive put on. Looking at pics id have to trim the racefit part down a fair bit so worried id be removing areas where mounting is needed if you get what I mean.
I see your predicament......on mine the fixing/mounting points are situated more toward the front of the carbon infill panel. Leaving quite a large area at the back where the exhaust exits. I suppose if I was in your predicament then yes I would be able to trim some away without going near the mounting points. Trouble is on the '12 onwards one in the link you posted you can't see the where the bolts are like you can on mine! I've posted a pic......maybe give the guy at racefit a call, they're very helpful I've found.
Cheers guys, much appreciated. Dave, looks like it only mounts along bottom? Ideal if that's the case. Did you trim yours and if so how easy was it? And finally, are you selling those wheels yet?
Yeh mounts to panel across the bottom so you should be ok... only trimmed to fit Akro as the link pipe was shorter than the Austin Racing item and it didn't clear the panel. I've also made a small flat bracket that attaches the Racefit panel to the OE fairing but at the very bottom so it's not in the picture... really needs the 3rd fixing underneath or the panel can vibrate with just the two fixings with the Racefit unit.... Wheels are staying for a while longer I'm afraid.... The panel trims up quite well and is easy to work with.... So you shouldn't have any issues modifying to suit.
Bleedin' heck. Why is it that other people's bikes always look better than our own? A real credit to you Dave. Have just incentivised me to re-appraise my own skills or lack thereof. By the way, are they 'forged' wheels? (I'm not after them - just interested)
