    I am typing this from my new Archos 101 internet tablet.
    Have to say i am very impressed so far.
    Got it for a steal from tesco £145
    The wife has an ipad2 and this compares very favourably

    It's true I'm more anti Apple than Snow White but I can't envision life without my iPad now.

    Is it as good as the Ipad 2, can you still get apps for it quite easily, looking for one for the wife's birthday.. IPAD, IPAD2 or alternative (cheap really) but not to sure on what to get ?

    I dont know enough about the ipad2 to make that statement. I bought my wife the ipad, then the ipad2 and she loves it.
    i just wanted something quick to pick up and load to get on the forum (god knows why), ebay and generally surf, without the expense of the ipad.
    so far i haven't found anything it cant do as well as the ipad, but i do think the ipad touch screen is a little more responsive (no actual problem with the archos though).
    The thing i do like is its ability to directly connect to my NAS drive without going through some other app.
    Graphics are very good.
    Android market is good.

    Thank you Steve that is fantastic to know, that's all my wife will use it for and she will love it if it functions in the same basic way as the i pad, is it similar in size to the ipad unit ?
