Just been upto Wigan Honda and they had a new fireblade SP1 outside for sale but its had a dream machine paint job in the VTR SP1 paint scheme. Looked stunning. Enjoy....

Interesting. As a comment rather than criticism, it seems counter-productive that a dealer would invest in that colour scheme, but neglect to put a bleedin' tail tidy on it.

Doesn't do it for me I'm afraid, it just reminds me of an old CBR600.

I looked on the website when I got back and wasn't that taken by it, in the flesh though it was stunning. Paintwork was superb. Not sure about the tail tidy, they have fitted an aftermarket exhaust which isn't in the pics on the website so maybe they are gradually putting bits on that crop up for them until it sells.

Wonder why they chose to paint an SP and not a standard blade? SP colours are lovely as they are, standard blade colours not so much imo

Tend to agree with you Charlie, but I didn't mention that in my previous post for fear of showing bias. However, the thing with SPs is that the colour denotes their difference from the 'standard' Blade. Where your point is relevant is that observers will wonder whether it is a genuine SP, or a standard Blade made to look like one. The wheels are an obvious sign, but some would not pick up on the Brembos and Ohlins.

Knowing the price would be interesting, BUT more interesting would be to uncover whether this is actually a 2017 bike that the dealer couldn't sell!!

Maybe they didn't do the standard blade because with the best will in the world, they are overpriced. I know they've dropped it but would a 'special edition' standard sell if they have to hike price to cover mods & paint?!? What's that one on at?

It's £18,990. It's unmistakably an SP nigel, brembos, ohlins and wheels. Couldn't imagine anyone could mistake it for anything else. I imagine you might be right about it being a 2017 bike, it's 0 miles though and was registered in March.... It had an 18 plate.

I wouldn’t say it’s an epic fail like those Honda paint jobs that the racers designed a few years back. But it is a thumbs down from me. Keep it standard is the best way.
