Thanks. I bought it from Demon Tweeks although it came direct from Scorpion. It's fairly easy to find a 10% discount code if you look online. It was pretty straightforward to fit. I had already removed the exhaust servo motor and fitted a servo eliminator in preparation. There is a good set of instructions for that on the Akropovic website. Pulling the cables that link the motor to the valve in the exhaust was a pain until I loosened the clamp that holds the rear brake cylinder on. There is one clamp on the link pipe and a bracket that fits to the original exhaust mounting point at the back of the rearset. The instructions say 60 minutes, I probably took a couple of hours in total.
Got a few bits done today. Mainly got the tail tidy done with my dinky indicators from my 600. Have to say definitely not the easiest job I’ve ever done to a bike, the tail end of this bike is like a jigsaw. Also put my personalised reg from my 600 onto it! Much tidier!
Looks great, Alan-lee. As I've said before, the tail tidy is really an essential. I don't know why Honda insists on retaining that bleedin' elephant trunk hanging out the back! Nice investment with the plate, too. Although some say it's a bit pretentious. Don't believe them!
Hey @Ratser, what's the verdict? Your wife happy? Is she fine with the seat height and the weight, etc?
Hahahahaha.. thanks Nige! I thought to myself when posting “Nige is going to think I copied him” lol but I can confirm I’ve heen a pretentious twat for a number of years now... I have a matching one to my DC5
Its something to do with the numberplate having to be the rearest point of the bike. Not sure where that legislation comes from or which country but everyone follows it.
Yeah, true. But there are many ways of doing a neater job! I wonder though, with the new MoT laws in effect from 20th of this month, whether some pedantic MoT 'scrutineers' will advisory a tail tidy because it is 2 inches too short?
The trick is not to go to any pedantic scrutineers ...the little local garages are worth their weight in gold
She loves it mate, although she has only managed to get out on it once. Thankfully we had the tail tidy fitted pre-picking it up. All she wants now is that exhaust changed, although she likes the sound of it. She has also booked it's first service already, and I think she might be letting me take it to the TT. She was also looking at trying to get an HRC reg plate.
Not a chance. DVLA only register them if they're allocated to an actual 'HRC' bike. I'm sure your wife would be equally happy with a 'BLK' or 'MAT' plate.
Cheeky bassa. I was trying to get Rat or TT one for mine, or even CBR. But am not gonna pay over the odds. Already have an H7 one on my bike.
CBR are really expensive - especially with a one or two digit prefix. Remember one of the forum members had one for sale some months ago. About 700 big ones!
I have two plates just now, both start H7, both have 3 letters after with our initials with the first one different on each one. She has hers on the car and mine is on the bike. I'd love a TT 10M one as well.
Wasn't keen on the Red Bull paint scheme on a road bike but what a difference with the infill panels and frame painted. Looks superb. Makes me want to go shopping
