When I got to 9000rpm under load the bike seem to cut out like a throttle shut off for a second , then picked up again while I was on full twist off the throttle, caught me out a bit . It's done this twice today . pulled in ,switched off, started up again and its not done since in the last 15 miles home . Had tank up,things seem to look ok under there . Any ideas please :(

My first thought is spark plugs on these.

It was like off on , by the time I thought of WTF it had picked up like nothing had happened , run fine after throughout the rev range ,plugs still original @ 10,100 miles ,had a look around ecu and connections , plugs next if it does it again

I wonder if theses are coming to the age where the plugs start to give trouble as my RR6 track bike was hesitant at high revs last year before the plugs were changed at 13k, a mates low mileage RR4 had to go in for plugs last month, and another members RR4-7 on here needed some new ones recently too. And to top it all my RR5 road bike may need some at 16k as I detected a slight murmur last week which I will be keeping an eye on.

Still, at least it's only a £50 DIY job. Just a PITA to get to.

Yeah £50 just been pricing some and yes a PITA to get to. Only £24 and 25 mins on my old RRV easy , think I will see what develops over a few runs

Any error codes? Did the FI display come on?

You can re-read the errors if you short a couple of wires on the diagnostic plug behind the lh fairing.

That kind of problem can be associated with the ignition system
Firstly, check your battery terminals are tight
Have you got an immobilizer fitted
    Spark plugs
There could be a short occurring somewhere

Yeah checked batt terminals , generally had a good look for any shorting and bad connections, had thought about alarm/immobilizer it has datatool s4 pain in the arse , hate messing with lectrics o_O

I had a similar issue with my sp1, turned out to be the immobiliser

Update, over 350 miles later and the bike has not missed a beat  wondering if it was a loose connection and while I had the tank up I accadently sorted it . Hope so

I had similar on my RR4 many years ago, it would not rev above 6k, a new fuel pump sorted it out..

Not done it since 7th May last year until today - wonder if it’s related to ambient temperature? It’s been well warm today and it was that day last year (only remember as its a friends birthday)

Ok it seems be under load when second injectors come in and if i keep the throttle open it feels starved ,:confused:,,,,, anyway got back , up with tank and feed pipe looks like it has a kink in it ,,,,,, let's see if that has been the problem
