Bit late to this one but wondered if you’re still having the problem? I had similar on my track bike (not a blade btw) - changed fluid several times, took calipers apart and serviced, new seals in master cylinder and still i kept getting a long brake lever about 10 minutes into sessions. Had an idea to swap the discs from my wet wheels and instantly solved the issue. No idea what was wrong with the discs, they’re not warped or worn down past minimum thickness but that was the problem. Might be worth trying to get hold of some discs to try? Just an idea.
Well i was planning on a new set of discs before september when mot is up. Might have to bring it forward.
Yeah it has ruined all the bearings but ive replaced them now. I chose the blade as i wanted the better build quality to help with all year use . I nearly bought a gsxr 1000 k7 .pleased with the blade though it could do with fresh fastners but otherwise cleans up very well.
Seal kit going in behind top seals on both calipers a furry mess. Ns caliper top seals actually proud of seat. Just got to fit back on bike and bleed up tomorrow morning as im off and its now beer oclock.
Holy crap, GT. I thought you were restoring a vintage bike for a moment! I guess many of our 'shiny on the outside' bikes could look the same when stripped down. You've gotta have good brakes when that's all back together. And then we can finally 'put a stop' to this longest brake thread ever! Woops sorry.
Just fyi from me, I just upgraded to a 19x20 MC and it's much better. Although this would probably be overkill for your average road rider.
