I didn' really have to trim anything, I made a couple of the holes bigger such as the side fairing and screen bolt fixing points. I also had to snap off one of tabs where the belly pan meets the lower fairings. But I've used a couple of push pins, one on either side to make everthing secure. It's all really straight forward once you get stuck into it and figured it all out. Be much easier second time round now I've done it once! Give your self plenty of time and don't rush anything or you'll break something!!!
Cool, i've had the standard ones on and off a few times. You can tell the chinese ones don't feel as flexible as OEM.
I spread everything out on the lawn in the sun on a hot day...…...trust me they were flexible after that!
Easy bit done (Tank Cover ). Tail piece was a pain, one of the little tabs pinged off but it still fits ok. @PauloHRC what did you stick the rubber bit to the tail section with?
Hi guys. Not wanting to sound like a smart ass, but wouldn't a 'contact' type adhesive be better because of its flexibility? I just imagine (from trade experience) that the brittleness of Superglue might not offer the same longevity as contact. Obviously yours is successful, Paul, I'm just providing another perspective.
Tried contact adhesive first time and for some reason it just peeled off like a face mask! I had the same thought process at the begining while I was umming and ahhing over which type of glue to use. Should have gone with my gut instinct and opted for super glue first-time round. It's now solid as a rock. No need for any flexibility on this particular part anyway!
I would go the black/white as it just looks more at home. The red logo does not match the red stripe of the tank, plus, it looks cheaper and 'plasticy' compared to the black/white. HOWEVER, I believe the OEM enamel badge would look far superior.

Fairings didn’t hold up too well on their second trackday today, side fairing came off on the sighting lap . Managed to ride there ok, but 150mph tested it. One of the tabs to connect the side fairing to belly pan looked like it couldn’t hack it and snapped off. The wind then caught the panel and folded it back, snapping the side fairing stay . Tried to hold it with my knee . Liberal application of cable ties sorted it but need a better fix for next one.
well that,s a bugger, never had problem at track with my china ones on my Blade or my R1, hopefully the next one will be better?
I think because it didn’t line up perfectly it must have put stress on the little tab which eventually broke and the wind caught it. Managed to stop at side of track before it flew off so the side of the panel isn’t damaged. Just need to sort a way to attach it to the front of the belly pan, and buy a new fairing stay
