isn't it just great we have had bike friendly weather for some time now.

I noticed a new bonus with this weather after today's ride: very few flies on my visor & fairings. No cleaning needed instead put my feet up and enjoy soe ice drinks.

Although my bum was toast when riding slowly though traffic

I got stuck in really slow moving traffic through the Blackwall Tunnel the other morning...it was friggin torture.
The air in there was about 100 degrees add to that the fact we are basically sitting over the engine which was over 100 degrees and I was sweating buckets...looked nice when I eventually sat at my desk :oops:

...on that note, do we all stick to the proper gear?

I still wear leather strides but the jacket is material.

It's proper betty swollox weather out there ;)

I have started using Doc Martens boots - the classic ones that some of wore at school and whatever. The plain ankle boots, bought a Brown pair and a Black pair (couldn't decide which to get !)

Personally - for riding a bike in the summer they are so much better than my motorcycle boots. Just have to make sure the laces are kept tied up and out of the way.

Vice-versa for me: material pants and leather REPSOL jacket!! (Not because I love Repsols, but it's just my version of a hi-vis vest!:D

Saw a guy on one of those turbo powered peds with just his shorts, no shoes or top and riding like a class a bellend. Cringed at the thought of coming off like that with all your skin tearing off your body your toes, heals, knees, thighs, back.......

Bugger the toes, heals, knees, thighs, back. What about the fairings, screen, levers and lights? A man must get his priorities in order.;)

If this was not bad enough hink of all the diesel polution you were inhaling:(.

On my RR8, I remove the two plastic trim covers on the sides of the seat. This does actually help a little; it makes the difference between your bum being medium rare or well done (either way it still cooks:eek:)

Few years back I bought a summer adventure jacket + trousers from Hein gerieke. They are mostly white (less hot in the sun) mesh + vent zips (chest, arms and arm pit areas). The trousers have zip vent only. The suit has all the armours in place + obviously abrasion resistant textile.
I think they still sell something similar.
And I love my hood jeans
