    Hi,
I have a 2013 fireblade, none ABS model. Just bought a used Akrapovic exhaust system ABS version including cat. The problem I have is the exhaust valve cable is to short to fit to the servo motor. Can I buy a new longer cable or modify the old cable.
    Any advice would be great.

    Hi,

    Welcome to the Forum.

I have an ABS Blade and was looking at fitting the non ABS version. I then found out that both the link pipe and the cable are different. Copy of Email below may help.

    Cheers,

    Ian.

    "Hi Ian,

I'm afraid the ABS model uses a completely different link pipe too. Simply
fitting a longer cable will not give sufficient clearance when mounted to
    the bike.
If you wish to buy just the cable, they cost ?79.00 plus postage.

    Kind regards

Gutted, so why is the link pipe clearance wrong ? Sorry for all the questions just need to no if its worth while sorting it out or selling it on. Seemed to fit ok "test fit" never bolted it all up. Cable seemed to be the problem.

    Many thanks
    Ian

Not sure why link pipe is different, but if you look at instructions http://az79640.vo.msecnd.net/akrapovicbppmultimedia/81b27780e84d4850a4a6fc90fbe136ce.pdf it is definitely a different link pipe for ABS and Non ABS.

Sods law that you got an ABS one, I kept looking for one second hand and it was Non ABS ones that kept coming up for sale (I needed ABS)

Hi Ian.. How did you get on with the akro. I've bought a non abs carbon akro for my 2013 abs Repsol. Is it worth attempting to fit it or am I waiting my time? Any help would be really appreciated

    Cheers pal

    Hi,

I managed to buy the one designed for an ABS bike from RichC on here - fitted fine.

If yours is a carbon one, then I suspect its not a Honda part number - so it may fit. I emailed a seller on Ebay a while back about a carbon one and he said it fitted both because it didn't have the valve / cable (I think the location of the valve on the link pipe and length of the cable is the difference between ABS and non ABS). Have a look here to see if there is any more info http://az79640.vo.msecnd.net/akrapovicbppmultimedia/81b27780e84d4850a4a6fc90fbe136ce.pdf

That info from PP is wrong, the Akra's I have fitted are supplied with both ABS and NON ABS cables? The only difference is the position of the servo motor? How confusing! And 80 quid just for a single cable....no way! Just lock wire it fully open job done!

All the cans are the same from BSB system to Evo system to cat system etc etc etc, the carbon and Ti cans are also the same even down to the last gramm!

Agree that it seems strange that the link pipe would be different. It does give a different part number in the Akra documentation for the link pipe (with servo) for ABS and non ABS - maybe thats what PP have checked.

Maybe so, what's odd is some of the systems (slip on with cat and servo) came with two cables I can't say what part numbers they were or what model they were ordered for as they were supplied as many are to me by the customer, I did one only a couple of months back (Akra anniversary edition ) that also came with the long and short servo cables..

Chees for the help and advice.. Im convinced after looking at my akro link pipe that both the abs and non abs are the same.. The abs can has a longer cable for the exup valve as it needs to be routed round ths abs box under the subframe..i think I'm going to remove the cable from the standard can and fit it to the akro ...failing that it will be getting lock wired fully opened ... Cheers for the advice everyone

Hi All, I just bought a Akrapovic slip on for my 2011 repsol off Ebay, however I didn’t realise when I bought it there was meant to be a cable with it, obviously the stock cable doesn’t fit, so I have to have a cable or can I run it without connecting the cable? Also will it hurt my bike in anyway? Kind regards

I run my Akra on my 2014 without the cable. It snapped and I didn't replace it. No difference in performance.
