I hope that the copper involved was taken to task over this, and I am deligted that the rider was aquitted on all counts.

Maybe I am being cynical but it seems clear to me that he had a vendetta against the Blood Bike service (who do a brilliant job) and was trying also to show off to his 2 young passengers.

I wonder what happened about the fact that he had 2 people below the minimum age on board?

Reading between the lines, the 'authorisation' MPC Oliver supposedly had from his inspector adds credence to the prospect of 'the brotherhood' sweeping the matter under the well-trodden police carpet.

My thoughts exactly. Both the wooden top and the Inspector need internal investigation.
Sadly I couldn't imagine the blood bike service pursuing this and risk further damage to their police relationship.

Will they wait for the next time he tries to sort his grudge with Bliod Bikes or will his higher ups sort there act out and deal with him? I won't be holding my breath to hear they made the right decision.

Sadly indicative of the situation that leads to the Police having less and less credibility. You see it at bike places now where Old Bill is basically shunned by many if not most bikers, naturally hi-viz brigade excluded of course.

How disgraceful, the fact that we have to rely on volunteers to deliver such services to save life’s shows what a state where in and to then have a police officer who suppose to be there to do the same, but instead targets a volunteer, someone who’s gives his own time up and puts his own life at greater risk by using a motorcycle...it’s just beyond belief, it really is. Appreciation must always be shown to volunteers and those such as the Blood Bike service.

The police officer surely has to be taken to task especially as this is the second time he has done this and then him pursuing with two children in the back of the car. I think maybe the officer here as pathetic as he seems was trying to show off to the kids.

Worrying that he hates blood bikes....more worrying would be if he hated bikes in general.

Think if I was a blood biker "surgical equipment" would be the code word for "put your chin on the tank"

Excuse the pun but this makes my blood boil, jeez I thought the copper would have rung up his guv to authorize blue and twos escort.
Personal beef has no part in the police service

Not that I would wish it on anyone, but wouldn’t it be ironic if MPC Oliver was laying on a hospital bed one day waiting for a delivery from the Blood Bike service. Bet he hadn’t thought of that.

I was a a fete recently and got talking to a guy their representing the blood bikes of my area. I didnt ever realise it was voluntary. Im on his list now for next time he gets funds to train. If i end up doing it ill reckon it will be great to be able to help those in need somehow. This case stinks and pc involved wants a reprimand for sure.
