Went to fit new rear hugger today, but the bolt in the middle of the swingarm will not shift. I have tried soaking with WD40 but still no luck. It is a hard area to reach because of the rear suspension and hugger. I can just about get an allen key in but can't get it to shift. Had this before on a 954 and ended up shearing head off and having to have it drilled out and re-threaded .

Any helpful tips would b e appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Not sure what its called but i have an old tool here that takes a range of screwdriver heads and alan key fittings that you set the direction , hold it in the stuck bolt , hit with a lump hammer and it turns whilst having the down force from being hit so that it does not jump and chew the head ..

Arthur will probably post the name of it shortly lol

As above....lol But you will not get one in there unless:-

If it were me I would remove the shock, remove said bolt (I know the one well) and re-greese linkage etc and put shock back in! Sounds like a big deal but well worth doing imo.. :D

Try to tighten the allen bolt first then untighten it .
If the allen bolt rounds off tap a torx socket bit into the allen bolt .
Keep trying to work the allen bolt tighten then untighten .

Thanks everyone, I hate those bolts, just one bolt and so much hassle. Will try what has been suggested, of course the other two on the outside are as loose as hell, but they don't get all the cra-p in them like the middle one does.

    Thanks guys.:)

Yeah I know that bolt well mate, as said by the others try to tighten a little, make sure you use a good alen bit, if you round it off do what said and tap a torx bit in I find star drives hold better than torx (like a fine torx) the impact driver is a must have.. Its always the simple jobs..lol

Dont thank me yet mate..lol you will have to undo the shock bolt to drop the arm down, you will need to support the bike somehow, rod through the swing arm bolt and axle stands for example, to get the driver in and whack it with a hammer while holding it in an undo fashion..
