Absolutely! Bring it in and let them make their determination. Perhaps you have a good dealer who will not look for a reason to disqualify your claim, but rather find a way to make the bike right and satisfy the customer. Best of luck mate, let us know how it goes.
Ok been at dealer and they are fixing it under warranty. The recon they will change both gaskets. The head and the clutch
hi guys just a wee update, My bike has covered 8500 miles. I got a phone call this morning, the problem was a leaking gasket around the speed sensor?? I have no idea about this what do you guys think? I will monitor it again and any problems its going back. let me know what you guys think.
Ah yes. I have heard of that before on some models. Upper right-hand-side of crankcase as I recall, and close enough to where you found the oil. Much better outcome than head or cyl block gasket!
so that would be where I was seeing the weep? The dealer said it was like a mist if it was a cyl head gasket the oil would be constantly leaking. I will keep a eye on it and see what happens. do you have a pic of the sensor?
Well I hope that’s what was causing it then take it the 2014 like mine will roughly be in the same location? He said he took it out a couple of runs so I will just keep an eye on it
Wel got the bike back yesterday took her a run and low and behold the problem still isn’t fixed a small run of oil down the case. See pic. I’m thinking they need to change the head gasket and the cluctch casing gasket.
. . . and that would be the logic AFTER a repair has been effected too! Truly hope you get some joy tomorrow.
I know, but now it’s always going to play in my mind. I have a bit of ocd I wonder if they would buy the bike back off me?
In a word, 'yes'. For 2 grand less than you paid! Don't be overly concerned though. This is probably one of those situations that is no serious problem - just annoying. As previously stated, I just hope it gets resolved for you.
