Just ordered some as bike was a bit vibey on the motorway yesterday. Will hopefully fit them this week and give them a test next weekend as planning a meet-up with my mate who going to the Pyrenees, and halfway between us time wise is Warwickshire, so plenty more time to come on Motorway/Dual Carriageway.
Had helibars fitted last Monday but haven't had chance to assess the difference yet as away on holiday now. I'm still thinking about fitting the grip puppies as this is a relatively small expense to hopefully make the whole riding experience more enjoyable... Look forward to your feedback Just remembered... You might use soapy water rather than detergent (such as fairy liquid) it dries much quicker and when it gets wet in the rain won't start sliding around again...
Finally got them fitted and what a pain to fit they were too. Tried not to use too much soap but had to increase the amount in steps to get them to go on. Having seen people use compressors to fit them it would seem a much easier option. Oh well will give them a run-out this weekend so if you hear stories of a biker with foamy grips it will probably be me
Well they didn't remove it all but they helped. Did about 3 hours today on Motorway and Dual Carriageway and could easily do more. They do thicken the grips which took a little adjusting to at first, but getting back in after a coffee with a mate and I didn't notice the change. If I wasn't planning on touring I probably wouldn't bother with them, but for the sustained straight line stuff they do make sense.
Thanks for the feedback... Looks like my next purchase . Just out of interest where did you buy yours from?
Ok, just fitted "GRIP PUPPIES". Used soap/soapy water on inside of GP's and on handle bars. Went on piece of cake! One bit of advice be careful when trimming to get a nice finish... better slightly too little trimming than too much. I now have an e-comfort seat, Helibars and grip puppies - should be as comfortable as my sofa now... ps. Nigel - it's still a silk purse
