Kidd was just an old model and never the brightest, I felt manipulated by the choice of her.
Whether a woman or bloke there's an insight and empathy needed for commenting on anything. Having done it is huge advantage but not absolutely necessary though

Doyle did a great job in my opinion and the interview with Guy Martin right after his off on the new bike was handled perfectly.

There's a lot of hate for Steve Parrish in general. I never really knew why until I'd read a book by Rick Broadbent called "that near death thing" then it all became clear.

(Sorry if you already know this) Apparently when Robert Dunlop was suing for loss of earnings after his rear wheel collapsed at the TT he was asking for the loss of money he would have earned had he made it into WSB. Parrish was called as an expert witness and asked in his opinion was Dunlop on the cusp of becoming a WSB rider. Parrish said no.

Its been a while since I read that book so don't quote me on any of that, but from what I can remember that's why he's not very well liked amongst some.

My first reaction is 'Amy who?'

However, fair's fair and she should show her form before judgement is passed.

She's alright actually, she was a special advisor on one of Guy Martins "speed" episodes when he was trying to break a speed record on a sledge. I think she'll do well.

Pgs 56/7 of July 2018 British Dealer News has a piece about the challenges to the TT.
Mostly the fall out from Steve Mercer's accident after Dan Keen's and the humongous costs of marshalling that will fall from the subsequent risk accessment, but also Greenlight TV's failed use of Kidd and its need to improve.
Ferry costs will rocket soon too it says!

I'm working my way through Michael Dunlop's book, Road Racer at the moment and it make reference to some of this story. Robert didn't want to make a claim, but while he was lying in a hospital bed with no income for his family to live off he had little choice.

Anyway, I've just spent the last week in Ireland and did a lap at the NW200, Armoy, Cookstown, Tandragee circuits, plus visited the memorials. Well worth a visit to Ireland for the £180 ferry crossing including the car.
    Only one downside....... Speed limits!

Although plenty of chances for a pint while en route ;)

I also purchased and read that recently. (Was on special at 'The Works')

A good read for any enthusiast. Some very sad material also. The book offers a very good insight into not only Michael's history and achievements, but also of the whole Dunlop family.

There's plenty I didn't know. I've just got to the bit where Michael was gonna give up racing in 2013 until a team boss pestered him to race a bike that BMW were about to launch after years of not racing the TT.
