Hi gents i fitted my hrc loom and ecu today, only problem i found was that the loom plug doesnt fit the standard speed sensor....so cut it off and put the original plug on. Problem is i have no speed or gear indicator. Do i need the hrc speed sensor, i assumed my mod would work as the wires matched up.
Is this the gearbox speed sensor mate. AFAIK the stock and the HRC are identical visually but the hrc has a red dot?
I was under the impression that you can use the the standard sensor on a standard gearbox with the HRC loom. What year is your bike and what clocks are you using? I assume 12 onwards?

Its a 08 so the hrc loom was for 09 onwards but it fits except for speedo sensor. As you say i assumed the same but it definitely dont work! I cut the plug off the hrc loom and spliced the old plug on for sensor.
It’s the HRC sensor 08-10 so maybe it does need changing but have had many say they didn’t swap on the 08 onwards. Also the loom loses the speed signal which needed a mod for the hm dash to work.
Strange they didnt swap as the hrc loom will not fit the standard speed sensor plug on 08. Hrc loom must have been designed for 2010 onwards then? Any idea what the mod was? Could it be possible speedo has been turned off in ecu as it is second hand jsb ecu?
I wouldn’t have thought they would have disabled it, besides the Rev counter works so seems strange. Are you in the southeast mate?

Hi mate i did come across that thread and done what the last gent said. Im at a loss lol. At snet tomo so speedo wont matter to much but i will miss gear indicator. I will also get some pictures of what i have done. Thanks for your help
