Looks great Kevin. Here again, we have the situation of a customer patronising a business with a near-on 20 grand purchase, and still you get barely a dribble of fuel in the tank. To me, it's like buying an expensive pair of boots or shoes AND THEN having to shell out on the laces. Anyway, that aside, you will find it's a great bike!
Great bike I love mine you'll find mode 2 is great for the Aroads although had a quick session on mode 1 today everything tightens right up ....enjoy mate just covered mine in muc off speed polish gleaming and ohhh the smell...
I did question the fuel. I was told it had, had fuel put in, but the ignition hadn't been turned on since. So, it hadn't registered. I'm not sure how much fuel had been put in.
Fair enough. I guess we all just trot down to the nearest servo and fill it straight away, so there's no real problem. I suspect they put regular in it. I run mine on premium, not necessarily for the octane rating but more because of it being 'ethanol free' (by certain suppliers). The full tank of fuel is just another customer service aspect that has diluted over the years. I remember my father having 3 free services on cars purchased in the 60s/70s. Now, we are lucky if we get one! I negotiated my first service free (on my 2018) as part of my purchase deal.
Interested in the white paint work beneath the screen, which seems to vary between 2018 models - perhaps suggesting there might have been a change during production. Calling out to @Wozza and @keithg1748 , is yours white, or blue like the pic below:
What settings do you use for road riding Nigel? I’m not quick. My bike hasn’t come with Pirelli tyres. Bridgestone instead.
Hi Kevin. I'm only 'average' but I set a 'User Mode' of 1 1 3 with the suspension set to M1. I have switched to Mode 3 for congested traffic (not much where I go though) which makes throttle response a bit slower/less abrupt. My experience is that there's very little difference between the modes, however, a rider more 'in tune' with a bike might say otherwise. Surprised to read of the Bridgestones, although I note the Owner's Handbook does specify them. I have only ever seen Pirelli's on the few bikes I've looked at.
Thanks for that Nigel. I’ll give those settings a try. I think the white bit differentiates it as a 2018 model. But I don’t know of any other differences.
Mine's a 2018 'J' production though. It seems as if some of the Euro bikes have the white panel. No big deal of course - just an interesting feature. I think there is scientific evidence that pigmentation in blue paint is thinner. That will, of course, mean that the bikes with blue panels will be more aerodynamic and therefore faster!! Evening N I will have a look in the morning point to note on the settings in mode settings the electronic suspension is constantly reading the road and adjusting its self in user mode it does not and stays fixed ....on the rode mode 2 is best as it has TC set at 5 out of 10 which now temps dropping ...leafs etc I think is a good safety net throttle is more feeling mode 1 is full on track so TC on 2/10. And throttle is boom...bike settings stiffen right up and if doing porridge speeds on clear warm dry clear roads is mind blowing mode 2 is more forgiving and the front forks actually move....on Pirelli super corsa...but will put on the new Diablo Rosso 11 as temps fall then back to the fun fair ones in the summer again.....
Wow! Now I'm really confused. Nice pic. Nice garage! Here's a 2018 with blue panel. USA dealer, but also white panels in USA. It's a case of 'go figure' as they say.
