Motorbike tent shed's

Picking up my 2012 blade on Friday. Sadly I don't have a garage so I was thinking of purchasing a motorbike tent shed. Anybody use them? Are they any good? Any particular brand recommended? Cheers.

 

I had one a few years ago, they’re not bad tbh. Can get a bit of condensation in there, I used to use a brick and leave an air gap for it to breath properly by propping it open. Seemed to work fine after that.

 

I had a Trimetal Titan 940 bike shed before moving to a house with a garage. Excellent unit, I live by the sea and it showed no sign of corrosion at all after 7 years in the yard - made from PVC coated galvanised steel. Even managed to sell it for £300 to the person who bought my house!
A bit pricey and a faff to put together, but once up its a really secure way to keep your bike stored.

 

Cheers for that but the price of those is way beyond what I would be willing to pay. Looking for a cheaper option really.

 

you can get a real bike tent and put a ground anchor under to secure the bike. How about a wooden shed?

 

OR, a humongous dog kennel!

 

A bike tent is looking like the cheaper option at the moment.

 

... just be aware - insurance companies can be funny about where your storing your bike!

Cheers Larry. I did see that after doing some serious Googling on it. Perhaps OUR concern with these things should be anchoring it or weighting it to the ground because I suspect high winds might transport it to the next county like those kids' blow-up castles!

 

I had a potential need for one on those. Yes you need to secure it to the groung for obvious reasons; but at the same time I would want to be able to be able to move it without having to rebuild the drive.
And last important thing depending on your situation, a ground anchor for the bike may be needed

 

I've got one. It was a bugger to fit to the ground as the anchors and fittings that came with it were shit. Made of cheese basically. Had to improvise and buy some other fittings. The tent itself though is pretty good.

 

Thanks Larry. I did feel the anchoring might be a problem, especially as I don't want my 'tent' fixed as a permanent location on a walkway. I might be able to improvise by weighting or tying down, but in the meantime I've come up with this. Patent pending on the weighted ends:

I don't see why they never made it with a plastic base that u ride on, and a zip making it a sealed unit
