I will need to replace my tyres, before Xmas. Looking at the following ~ Michelin RS (£30 back) if purchased before end of September. Michelin Road 5 ( ditto) ditto. Pirelli Diablo Rossi 3 . I don’t do rain or track days, but like knee-down . Basically, I am a predominately summer rider. And, I don’t care how many miles I get out of a pair of tyres. I am erring on the side of the Michelin RS. What are people’s opinions? Thanks.
If you don’t do rain or not fussed about mileage you would be better off looking at the sports tyres instead of touring which two of those are mate
I'm running these Dunlop Sportsmart TTs at the moment https://www.dunlop.eu/en_gb/motorcycle/tires/sportsmart_tt.SSMART TT.html#/ Impressed so far, been great on track and the road. When I got it it had Michelin Power Supersport Evos on (think they're discontinued now, not sure what has replaced them), didn't get much chance to see what they were really like as the rear had had it. seemed to have worn a bit strange, like a bit of a step, where the different compounds on the rear met but not sure if that was from being hammered on track.
I have Mich Power RS on my 999 and Rosso III on my 996. Prefer the Rosso III for pure road. Both are fine for knee down roundabout surfing. I'd trust Rosso III more in any wet conditions.
Get the new Pirellis 11 next one down from super corsa new out a few mths ago...that's what I am going for..
I often promote Super Corsas as a great tyre, BUT, even though you're not concerned about wear, they ARE soft. After many favourable reports on here, I'm inclined to try the Metzler 7RR on my 2011 in a couple of months.

I am overwhelmed by the support for these tyres. Will put them on my 2011 shortly. Thanks all and to @Great Guy for the thread. Some might get bored with never-ending tyre threads, but with changing technology, what was good last year might not necessarily be good this year!
I have just put Michelin Road 5s on mine. I figured I'm more likely to get caught in the rain than on a track or getting my knee down. They seem alright so far and should be better than the Dunlop 214s that were fitted from the factory.
Just to give you a bit more. I my rear has lasted me 2 summers inclusive of 2 full day track days (830am - 530pm) at knockhill running at the sharp end in inters.I'd say over 3000 miles.
M7rr. Same set on since last year, Did a whole summer, winter, autumn, spring, a trip to Germany and the Nurburgring, Autobahn, thunderstorms and ice. Top tyre in the dry and wet.
