morning all , ive been looking at the t rex bike engine , and frame sliders and they look like decent stuff , but I was wondering if anybody has ordered stuff from the Usa and if there was any other charges when it hits the Uk , thanks .
I have brought parts into the US from Australia and the UK and aside from shipping, no additional charges here. May be different for you lot though.
Also,as I've offered to others, if you need US based parts, you could always ship them to me in NY and I'll send them along if they don't ship to the UK.
thanks for the offer , but they do ship to the uk , but im just a bit weary if I order from them that I get hit with a stupid customs charge and vat , they are based in Dallas .Texas
They sell T-Rex stuff at my local Honda dealership (same place I got my Repsol). I've considered their frame sliders, but have yet to pull the trigger. They are substantial units for sure.
I've looked at T Rex sliders too. Having been hit by import duties from China before I tend to try and find a European importer but without luck so far. It isn't just the VAT and duty that hurts but also the "admin" fee from the courier. https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty
yer thats what im bothered about , lol , I cant understand why no Uk dealers aren't selling this stuff , I want the engine case protectors , the price including delivery is £140 which is cheaper than the gb and I think they look better , but if you get hit with all that shit , its not worth it .
You'll have to pay import duty and VAT. The only way to avoid it is to get a friendly US resident, such as @Spygoat, to send them on marked as a gift with a declared value less than the threshold where duty and VAT become payable. You then run the risk of not being able to claim for the full value if they go missing.
I've sent bike parts to my friend in Sweden without issue a few times and have received items from members of this site a few times. Usually takes about 7 days to get from here to there and vice-versa.
