True Mattie, but if anyone is currently interested in an SP with rec. retail of 19,770, this deal represents good value. I think dealers might be caught out with these things. There's a glut of them in the market. About five on eBay through dealerships that have been for sale for ages. Certainly not the rare bird I expected it to be.
Buying a SP2 is kinda pointless unless you going to put the full HRC kit on it and make it a track weapon; the different cylinder head is un-ported so until such time you do work to it and get rid off all the Euro 4 junk it’s pointless compare to a SP for road. BSB boys did get >200bhp on it so with similar HRC get it probably get close to that and doing that certainly be cheaper than buying a HP4 race building to similar spec. It just a shame that it doesn’t come more kitted up for such a special bike...
agree, honda are piss taking with this bike, all u have do on other makes is stick an full exhaust on to get 200bhp
Of some interest, but noticeable - a the the recent Bol d'Or 24-Hour race the different bikes in the entry list, mostly private teams that choose whatever bikes work for them: 39 entries on the start line: 13 - Yamaha R1 09 - Suzuki GSX-R 09 - Kawasaki ZX-10R 04 - BMW S100RR 04 - Honda CBR1000RR What can you say to that really.
Sadly it reflects what we know in that outside of the elevated heights of MotoGP/GP3 Honda is not really in the mix. With the move to Triumph by Moto2 that also will be sans Honda. There are and will be some exceptions to this but it does make you wonder if there is more going on (wrong?) than a few yeare if ropey results.
Hi I’ve seen these and Dobles also has one under the Honda help to buy scheme !!??? £3k towards new bikes. Apparently superbike sales across the board are down 40% this year. Even though we’ve had these SP’s, KX’s, V4’s etc. Sign of the times with not being able to enjoy them perhaps. I have a 2018 SP2 and the HRC kit thing is Bologny as I have the shopping list and it’s super pricey with so many parts that you just can’t decipher it so as to purchase singular parts that you might want. Has anyone bought a full exhaust system for one or increased power any other way?
I have a full titanium kit system for one at home . It’s for sale. Same as Honda racing use and ten kate on their world sbk
