Should I say thanks or not Nigel Now I don’t know wether to go for the paddock or the warrior spider Only thing with the spider I can’t see a kit to fit my blade 2016
Fairly sure that like most of these mobile stands, they come with a fitting kit for a specific bike. Surely there'd be one for a 2016 Blade. Another alternative a member recently suggested is 1jac I will be having a serious look at this at the NEC in Novenber.
Have a search on here for 1jac. Was quite funny when their sales guy pretended to be a happy user to contradict a bad review.
with my spider stand I can remove both wheels then move the bike round the workshop out of the way, I threw my paddock stands as they are a pain to move the bike once the wheels are removed
Yeah I’ve had a couple of Warrior spider lifts and they’re great for certain things. The lift is too unsteady to do any heavy engine work or to torque rear axle nuts. Things like that. I don’t like the way the bike leans off the pins on them though. The Abba sky lift is a serious piece of kit. It’s much more expensive than the wee Warrior one mind you.
I have actually read reports of bikes falling off that particular stand. In fairness though, it could be user error by not centring the weight or using on unlevel ground.
My first one leaned like a bitch. Here it is on perfectly level power floated concrete floor: The second on I had seemed to be modified to decrease the angle but still leaned a lot. I never had a bike fall off one but I never really trusted them.
Hi guys, a question for those of you using the ryde front stand Can they be used on any bike. My honda and yam adventure bike have a slightly different fork height and width
I haven't tried mine on any other bike, but I imagine forks aren't much wider or narrower between makes. Ryde advises these specs: Measurements: Width: 27cm Depth: 60cm Height: 34.5cm (to fork support)
I totally agree with the lean and worry about the bike falling off, the lean is caused by the bike slipping off the top pin. On mine I have fitted a locking pin that fits through the top pin. I did make the assembly myself that fits onto the stand and onto the bike. so much better than standard
ordered my ryde stands Monday and they arrived today in black and look really good. just need a bike to put on them
I agree, I love my Harris stands. Only difference with mine is I got the under fork nipples (ooer mrs) for mine.
