My bike came with a plastic dummy replacement and I rather like it. However, for various reasons, I'd like to add a seat to my spares box so I looked on Ebay and, since I wasn't in a hurry, I bought a dirt cheap Chinese copy supposedly for the model and year but I got it wrong. Now, looking at pictures in detail, my rear cowling seems to be different from some. Many of the pictures have a large 'hook' in the centre which I do not have an opening for. My 'seat' only has two hooks on either side. The bike is equipped with pillion footrests so it probably had a proper seat once but I'm not finding one to match. Any advice? CBR1000RA 2015
Edit: Disregard That's weird. I was under the impression that those "seat covers" would fit any 08-16 1000RR... You're saying you don't have an opening in the "bike" for the tabs of the seat cover?
The rear seat comes with the large middle hook your referring too. They fit all years 08-16. Your solo cover just has the mounts in different place Your seat will hook in the middle of them two bits of metal. As it a chinese made seat not might fit perfect or bit harder to fit ie bit tight, press down and slide back as you put the seat on.

Right. Thanks guys. I think I'll put it down to just horrible moulding on the cheapo seat. There's a genuine Honda part on Ebay so I did a buy it now.

My Chinese copy was a bastard to fit, I had press down really hard at the back to get it in, genuine one fits so much better even with a tribogrip cover on.
