I know it has a face only a mother could love but I think it's stunning. I rode one a couple of months back and decided it was my next bike. Utterly nuts! Actually found an as new Scorpion RP1-GP not 20 miles away for half price too!
I did the same exuptoy, picked mine up 3 weeks ago Great stable mate for the blade Agreed they are totally nuts, I haven't changed the zorst yet not sure what to get. How much louder is the scorpion over stock ?
I’ve loved the rudeness of these since they were launched. Always fancied one. Taken a side step into zzr1400 for a couple of years but think that’s going for something naked.
It's noticeable but not really loud, after all the MT can is straight thru. It's ok though. I'm not fussy on buying the decat pipe as they all seem like they're too loud but I have noticed that the LeoVince one has a built in baffle chamber. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8082-LEO...823958&hash=item28557ec0eb:g:DHsAAOSw93ZatU5k Anyway, here my sound clip. Better with earphones.
Congrats on the new bike exuptoy, Your bike does look stunning, plus comes with the sound track of the crossplane engine, Strawberry's & Cream
Thanks exuptoy, sounds good. All the bikes I have heard with the decat are very loud, two of my neighbors have very young children and the bike will be used two up when we are abroad, so I don't want it overly loud, just something that enhances that CP4 growl Have you bought a rad guard and headlight protectors yet ?
My exact thoughts, hence the Leovince. I'm gonna get the Evotech guards as they are only £99 for the pair and they do make a good product but hadn't thought about light protection. I know the headlamp unit is expensive at £355 and you can't just purchase the lamp itself!
Yep suggest also cooler guards!!! here : workshop manual in .pdf https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwKobrluzNwYV2ZtYThTUndqWTA
Nice one mate I too went for an MT-10 when I sold the blade back in June. Only had it 4 months and am still smiling. I love it.
I did purchase oil and rad cooler guards in the end. I went with cheap Stainless and alloy ones from China for only £28! They're ok actually although they may have been a better choice if they were black like the Evotech stuff. Also did the servo eliminator to gain some extra space under the seat. along with bar end mirrors and some R&G sliders to protect the investment. I love this thing. Totally off the wall! Also done 700 miles in the last 3-4 weeks and had my first service done (feck me, I've done half as many miles in a month as I usually do in 12! )
Oh yeah, while I remember, I also made an OBD2 scanner from an old car one so it'll now plug into the Yam harness and purchased a spare front sprocket cover and hacked it up and I modified an old Joby Gorilla Pod camera mount and fitted it to my mirror blanks for the GoPro. Oh to be unique eh?
Cheers @derchef, I purchased a new unused 2015-2018 R1 sprocket cover from a converted race bike as they are the same unit as the MT, so I have retained my original in case I balls'd it up . Only cost me £22 too.
Now I do like that. Seen a few for sale and love them every time. May even chip away over time picking up marked panels in preparation of building my own down the line.
They had the 60th Anniversary edition in last year on one....that was stunning, this pic doesnt do it justice.....one of the few times I was tempted away from the blade
