My only gripe with my Blade is the 'your headlights out' comment I keep getting from non bikers, I also think it looks shite.

I read on here a while back about a dual headlight module from Germany that sorts the problem. How have people got on with it long term and is it easy to install?

    Cheers

It's another one of those great debates. Some say it's so drivers don't mistake it for the headlights on a car further away than you actually are and pull out. Other say it just looks better. I ran a wire across at one stage and adjusted both headlights as best I could (bearing in mind the reflectors are different), but running both bulbs flattened my battery on a run, so I went back to stock, although a proper module may not have this issue.
In this case it's personal preference. If you're dead set then give it a go, maybe just ride around during the day with the high beam on and adjust it down, see how you get on?

I made up a kit to run two dipped beams and head n dip , has worked well. Ran two dipped beams to Austria n back. The only downside as yet was not properly set high beam but I dont run in the dark, but I am sure i could focus the beam better. It's pretty good though, check out my posts, and only cost a few quid

As @Muffking said, the idea is to avoid confusion of an oncoming car in the distance.

For the sake of a few comments, I'd steer clear of running both lights just for convenience and could help to avoid an accident. More hassle than it's worth to resolve the issue over some people being nosey.

A lot of bikes run with both lights on as standard ( like my Tuono) so that kicks the confusion theory into touch.

I've fallen fowl of the dual lights issue when a car pulled out on me from a junction. I asked them what they were playing at and they legit thought I was a car in the distance.

I'm definitely wanting to get two lights on low beam, it looks loads better. This plug and play module seemed the best bet I just wanted to know if it's reliable as I go abroad a lot.

@hitch is the man in the know, he's just posted recently where too get the kit in the thread 'headlight'

Have to agree it does look better, bit pricey though! Has to be an easier way of doing it !

After riding my mates r1 with dual lights I think mine are crap with just the one even with the led bulbs.
Think I might have to give it a try with the kit as there’s no lights on my commute

Might the 2017-18 set-up transplant into the 2012? Downside is that it might be an expensive option - unless you could source lights from a track guy.

Could be an option? But just adding the wires to mine seems a lot easier than opening headlight casings and whatever else that might be involved?

    Yeah, it’s all very straightforward.

Can’t be ar$ed to find the threads that I added the details to, but if you search on here and/or google for Doppellicht, the site is in German but google does a good job of translating add to that the seller/manufacturer speaks English you’ll have no issues with questions etc. ...his name is Jens email from his site.
