I'm thinking, just thinking at the moment of selling my SP1, VTR twin

I've had the bike for 5 years and if I'm honest I've spent more time servicing and polishing it rather than riding it

Its a 2000 model SPY with just under 20k miles, really nice condition, 3 previous owners, akra cans and link pipes, a said, serviced and polished regularly:D

It currently has a set of Chines fairings on, the original ones are bubble wrapped and in the loft

Prices for these are a bit crazy imo, some folk are living in dream world, personaly I think its a 5.5k bike, what do you think

Pics of bike now and with oe original fairings

    Cheers Rob

5.5 sounds reasonable but I'd wait till spring.

Frig me! Some people just don't know how to offer their bike for sale at the most appropriate time.

Those who have followed my posts will know that I sold my 1999 VTY solely to buy an SP1 or 2. I've since purchased an Aprilia RSV in its place: https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/rsv-factory.36253/

I will say though that 5,500 is a magic price for what you're offering. As you know, there are many pulling 6 - 7000 but then again, some hang around. I did express interest in a silver SP1 for 6,000 but for me, silver is the least interesting of the liveries.

I am confident that if you wanted a quick sale you'd drop it within a few days. But not to me:(.

Just so happens I have a 'Vimto' in my ebay file. You might want to check it as a reference point: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-Hon...h=item2ab63b1e43:g:KtYAAOSwHn9bpMPM:rk:6:pf:0

I'd have it in a flash at that price! If it's as good as you say it is of course:)

But unfortunately my dreams of a second bike to put in my new garage when the extension is built have been dashed as I have managed to somehow impregnate the missus! :D

So I've had to get a 7 seater!

Have you painted the wheels gold or is it a spare set??

The market for modern classics is not affected by the time of year you sell it.

It’s all based on desirability, history, demand and price.

So there’s no gain in waiting if you want to sell. Genuine buyers know their stuff and will know just about every bike in detail that’s being offered for sale and wait and wait for the right bike.

On your side, do yer homework and know what it’s value is, what similar bikes if any actually sell for and what your bottom exit price is.

There will be be buyers out there, you just have to put the right package out there to engage them.

All the same cracking bike matey.
