Little update got a letter from Honda as well and the model is CBR1000RRG ED

 

Would appreciate your posting a copy of who you asked for the letter from and a copy of the letter itself (suitably redacted to protect your details)

 

Not wishing to cut across @bazzashadow , but I'll just advise that I have always had good response from Honda UK Customer Service (Berkshire, 01344 888489).

I've made a number of queries about 2018 SP2 production/power plant/import quota etc and always had prompt written and or phone replies.

 

As Nigel has said I rang them and a chap took my details and the two questions I had and then said someone will be in touch and fair enough three days later I had a email confirming the details I wanted but the model number was not as clear I I would of liked so I replied to the email and they sent all the details in a letter. This is part of the letter

 

Thanks for that @nigelrb and @bazzashadow I’ll give Sarah Turner a call and see if she can provide a similar letter for my Black Edition

 

I did not talk to Sarah just a bloke on the phone and then Sarah emailed me

 

Understood - I’ll advise how I get on.

 

So I contacted honda customer service and a nice chap called Bradley said not a problem, we’ll send a letter to confirm the bike to be a CBR1000RR-G ED. Whilst waiting for that to come through DVLA replied and said sorry cant do anything without a letter from Honda UK. Here’s your V5 back and a prepaid reply envelope to ensure it goes directly to the person dealing with my case.

Bradleys letter arrived today and as such I have drafted a fresh covering letter to DVLA, marked up the V5 and put them along with the letter from honda in to the prepaid and it’ll get posted tomorrow.

I’ll let you know how I get on........

I sent a copy of the email from Honda and a copy of my warranty/service book with it wrote in, to them and had no reply, then I got sent by the sound of it the same letter as you.
tried the forward this as well to dvla but with no joy.
so I am still waiting to hear from them.
but the letter does state more than the email.
so the letter is better and states the same as yours

 

I spoke to a couple of people with the black editions recently and it looks like they’ve all gone through DVLA as F’s

would like to know what the dealers put on the registration forms as it is clear by your letter and mine the model number consists of more than just the normal model number

 

If you guys keep up these attempts to have the Black Edition specially recognised, they might end up being worth more than HRCs.

Nup. I'll take @PauloHRC 's lead and by a set of shiny blacks! Will put #35 on front so no one will know it's me if I drop it!

 

sent my log book to them on the 7th November and I have still got no reply

 

My second letter, along with the Honda UK letter and marked up V5 went off 24th Nov, so only been a week. Considering from my first letter going off, to DVLA coming back to me took nearly three weeks, I’m not expecting anything this week. But you never know

 

rung dvla today and there is no record of my log book turning up.
so they are going to send me another and then I have got to go through it all again

 

Serves ya right for not having anything else better to do....probably gone in the persistent nuisance bin
