Hi all, I recently posted a wanted ad for a tank cover, but managed to get a Sebimoto Kevlar one off eBay, and I thought I’d post a few pictures.
And say what it’s like versus the fiberglass one I have.

First off it’s class looking and it’s a shame that most of it will be covered,
It is also super light and I was surprised by how much lighter it felt, downside to that is it has far more flex than the motocarbons one I have, so I’m not sure how it will last, but feel it’s worth trying out.

The inside of the motocarbons I was using, heavier but a lot better quality

None of this is being done for weight saving, I just wanted to keep the bodywork I have and was using the spares the bike came with for a new paint scheme but needed a tank cover and got this off eBay for around the same price as a new fiberglass one.

I've got the same one for my blade for trackdays, there's quite a bit of flex on the sides bits where you're knees go on mine. look cool though :).

I must say that it is a rather 'novel' look - somewhat like my great-great grandfather's herringbone jacket!:D

The full 'grandfather's herringbone' effect :), it's back in Repsol trim at the mo (makes it go faster :D)

They were pretty well finished off when I got the bike, got one slowish trackday (1st one on this bike) out of them and that was it so didn't really get much of a chance to see what they were really like

I don't half mind that. Unique. What made you return it to Repsol? (except for the 'perceived' speed advantage, of course;))

Made it easier to insure for the road if it was in the original road trim with lights etc. Still got the Carbon/Kevlar stuff, I got a chinese kit too as it made it easier to swap over for trackdays as the bikes an 08-11 but the race fairing is 12 onwards. if it went back to just a trackbike i'd use the carbon/kevlar stuff.

Think I paid about £360ish to insure the blade (with all the mods declared) and my ZX-7R on a multi bike policy, but they wanted about £600 just for the blade if it had the race fairing on and was on a 'Daytime MOT'.

I was wondering about that flex alright, as it seems to have a good deal more than the motocarbons fiberglass one I took off, but hopefully it won’t be too bad/annoying, but I won’t find out until next summer !

Yours looks awesome, it’s a nice effect the way it’s done on your bike !
That said Repsol body work is great looking too !! So many choices ha ha
