Considering winter is going to lay me up indoors for ages, I'm thinking of getting a game console for Moto GP, IOM, and F1 games. I know some members use these; can you help with the better options (if any) between Playstation and X Box. I'm not interested in online game sharing etc, or extremely huge storage. This might mean that I could get away with, say PS3 rather than 4? I have a good Smart TV for connectivity.
A PS3 and SBK X works for me. They're getting on a bit now, but seem to have plenty of well known track on there. https://uk.webuy.com/product-detail...tation3-games&superCatName=gaming&title=sbk-x For me they're just lacking Cadwell and Mallory Park
Bought my lads a Nintendo Switch so they can play FIFA 19. They love it. It hooks up to the living room TV or can be used as a portable device.
I've always been a PlayStation guy. Got the IOM TT game which is decent. There is a new game called ride3 which look good, few videos on YouTube. Most games these days are online multiplayer based. Not necessarily a bad thing but something to consider.
Thanks. Hadn't considered Nintendo and haven't used one since Mario Kart 64 in 1997. I see they have Moto GP18, but they might be a few laps behind the major players being Playstation and X- Box. The 'portability' is good, though not something I need. I might be better off waiting for the post-Christmas sales. I did check Black Friday deals, but found no startling offers. And a good thing too, after seeing news reports of prices not necessarily at their lowest!
I'll have a word with my 11 year old son and get back to You!! Seriously though I got him an X box one S last Christmas after upgrading from Xbox 360. Got it for Just shy of £200 with two games and controller, think it was Argos. That's pretty much what they're going for now and doubt they'll be any cheaper in the sales! He's currently playing Red Dead Redemption......I want a go a go but he won't let me on it I've had PlayStation years ago, I think it's all personal preference as they're pretty much the same in my opinion.
I would say xbox one x but I had a xbox360 for years and never had any problems but the other day I brought a xbox one x and since then all I have had is problems, as I am typing this I am on hold to xbox to try to sort my problems so not sure I would recommend it now
Nigel don’t encourage her by say useful No I didn’t but and this might be it, I got it from curry’s Black Friday deal and the last one left
Erm, @Lozzy needs no encouragement from anyone, least of all, me. She is a woman of wit, wisdom and foresight.
Some weird forum thing where I copied & pasted a smiley. Loving the adaptation of my user name though
Now this is an area of my expertise, I work at a AAA Video Game studio, it all depends what you are after.. The Xbox One X is the most powerful currently and will run games released on both platforms smoother and at a higher graphical fidelity. The Ps4 is a great all rounder though, with the Pro version narrowing the gap to the Xbox. If you have a 4k TV then pick up either an Xbox One X or S as it also plays 4k Blu Ray's, which the PS4 will not do. If you need any further info, let me know
Cheers @Stuish . Just checked those out. I'm not in the 400 quid market - for me that's overkill for evening leisure time, although once again I say each to their own. I will look favourably at X box One or One S. None is bundled with the games I want, so I'd be whacking in another 60 - 80 quid for my games. I think the post-Christmas sales will see some better deals than present. Ta again!
