Good question, I honestly couldn't confirm. I ride that section of road every day and don't generally enter the hatches as there is room to filter. The contact did happen in the hatched area though whether because I was in it already or had to enter to avoid collision. The copper on scene did have a few words with both of us for crossing the solid white line though.
Yea I see what's happened now. Merc has gone to cut across the cross hatched area to cut into the fast moving lanes.
I am sad to say that riding a bike in an alert state of mind is the best training for survival against: mums taking their baby jesus to chool HGV drivers thinikns they are racing at brands hatch white van drivers emailing or texting their customer or girlfriends while driving white hair brigate trying to work out what the buttons do leasure cyclist all over the road because they are "excercising" and they owned it Sorry but I like to be politically incorrect
Glad you are ok, tragic if you lose your bike, especially with that miles under its belt but they can be replaced unlike you life. All the best.
Just got a note from my accident solicitors, The third party had admitted full liability.. RESULT!! Time for some new gear!
Legal cover was included in my premium but I dont know TBH, RAC who provided the insurance referred my claim directly to a third party when they believed it was a non fault accident.
Bear in mind that if you do use LEI you are not obliged to use the solicitors appointed by the insurers. That practice was outlawed about 5 years ago. You are free to use whoever you wish and legal cover must be honoured and maintained.
